When you call, someone always answers, either me directly or my legal assistant, who works every file with me. Nobody sits in a queue.
I return calls within 24 hours.
If I can't pick up when you call, you'll hear back from me within a day, not a week.
I call people on the weekends if I have to or after hours.
My office keeps Monday through Friday hours, but a real question about a real injury doesn't wait for business hours, and neither do I.

Before you call
What actually happens during the consultation.
The consultation is free, and it usually runs 20 to 30 minutes. I'll ask you to walk me through what happened in your own words, and I'll ask about your medical treatment so far. If you have a police report, insurance letters, or photos, bring them or have them nearby, but don't worry if you don't. I would rather hear from you today than wait for paperwork.
By the end of the call, I'll tell you honestly whether I think you have a case and what I would do next if you hired me. There's no pressure and no obligation. Talking to me does not create an attorney-client relationship. That happens only once a written fee agreement is signed.
If you're on the fence
You don't need a referral to pick up the phone.
Not long ago, two people found their way to my office after reading something I had written rather than through a referral from a former client or another attorney. One of those calls turned out to be a very serious case. I mention it here because it tells you something true: if a page on this site answered a question you had, that is reason enough to pick up the phone. You do not need someone else to hand you my name first.
